Skoutari, Greece — Skoutari Olive Oil has been awarded a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Skoutari Olive Oil brand.
Skoutari Olive Oil is an organic extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity made from Koroneiki olives. Distinguished by a clear artichoke note, Skoutari Olive Oil is produced in small batches from early-harvest fruit and crafted to emphasize both aromatic freshness and a high-polyphenol profile.
Maria Sgourou and Anargyros Vardas took over their family olive groves with the goal of producing an olive oil that would stand out for taste and aromas as well as for beneficial properties. In 2020, Skoutari was born as an organic Koroneiki extra virgin olive oil produced in small batches, early harvested and rich in polyphenols. Skoutari is a shield that protects our health, like the one that protected the Erotokritos in his battles, and from its name is derived.
The 2026 Silver adds to a strong NYIOOC record for Skoutari Olive Oil. Across its participation history, Skoutari Olive Oil has earned six awards at the competition, including five Gold Awards and one Silver Award, with Gold Awards recorded each year from 2021 through 2025.
In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Skoutari Olive Oil is ranked #12 in Greece, #68 in the Northern Hemisphere and #72 Worldwide.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world's leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
