Sparta, Greece — Sparta Gourmet has been awarded a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Sparta Gourmet brand.
Sparta Gourmet is a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil made from Koroneiki olives. The oil is marked by a clean, rounded character, with walnut notes that carry through the palate.
Sparta Gourmet is a family owned and operated business based in Sparta. The family emigrated from Greece in the 1970s to New York City, a connection that has shaped Sparta Gourmet’s identity across two homes and two food cultures. The 2026 award continues a steady record at the NYIOOC for Sparta Gourmet. The producer’s results now stand at five Silvers overall, adding to Silver Awards earned in 2025, 2024, 2023 and 2021.
