Sparta Gourmet wins Silver at 2026 NYIOOC for Sparta Gourmet

The family-owned Greek producer earned its fifth NYIOOC Silver with a medium Koroneiki extra virgin olive oil.

Sparta, Greece — Sparta Gourmet has been awarded a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Sparta Gourmet brand.

Sparta Gourmet is a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil made from Koroneiki olives. The oil is marked by a clean, rounded character, with walnut notes that carry through the palate.

Sparta Gourmet is a family owned and operated business based in Sparta. The family emigrated from Greece in the 1970s to New York City, a connection that has shaped Sparta Gourmet’s identity across two homes and two food cultures. Alongside its production in Greece, Sparta Gourmet operates through its Sparta Gourmet website.

The 2026 award continues a steady record at the NYIOOC for Sparta Gourmet. The producer’s results now stand at five Silvers overall, adding to Silver Awards earned in 2025, 2024, 2023 and 2021.

The 2026 Silver also strengthens Sparta Gourmet’s standing in the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, where Sparta Gourmet is ranked #20 in Greece, #79 in the Northern Hemisphere and #81 worldwide.
