Spain — Sucesores de Hermanos López has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Morellana Hojiblanca brand.
Sucesores de Hermanos López was also awarded a Gold for Morellana Picual and a Silver for Morellana Picuda, bringing the producer’s 2026 results to two Gold Awards and one Silver.
Morellana Hojiblanca is an extra virgin olive oil of delicate intensity made from the Hojiblanca cultivar. The oil is distinguished by ripe olive aromas layered with cinnamon and thyme, followed by a gentle black pepper note.
At the same competition, Morellana Picual earned a Gold in the medium category from Picual olives, while Morellana Picuda received a Silver in the medium category from Picuda olives, underscoring the breadth of Sucesores de Hermanos López’s varietal range across three distinct cultivars.
Among Spain’s longest-established extra virgin olive oil producers, Sucesores de Hermanos López mills and bottles in its own facilities using only its organic olives. The producer traces its approach to a focus on controlling each stage of the process, from fruit selection through extraction and packaging.
The 2026 honors add to a long competition record for Sucesores de Hermanos López at the NYIOOC, where the producer has accumulated 22 Gold Awards and five Silver Awards overall. In recent years, Sucesores de Hermanos López secured three Gold Awards in 2025, followed by two Gold Awards and a Silver Award in 2024, two Gold Awards and a Silver Award in 2023, and three Gold Awards in 2022. The producer also earned two Gold Awards and a Silver Award in 2021, three Gold Awards in 2020 and one Gold Award in 2019, continuing with one Gold Award and a Silver Award in 2018 and one Gold Award each year from 2017 through 2015.
The 2026 results place Sucesores de Hermanos López among the leading producers in the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, where it is ranked #4 in Spain, #18 in the Northern Hemisphere and #19 Worldwide.
