The Israeli producer’s medium Coratina extra virgin olive oil adds to a seven-award NYIOOC record and a top national ranking.

Lachish, Israel — Tamir Farm has been awarded a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Ptora Midnight Coratina brand.
Ptora Midnight Coratina is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity. Produced from Coratina olives in Israel’s Lachish region, the oil is distinguished by an artichoke character and a peppery edge that underscores its fresh, savory profile.
Thirty-five years after planting an olive grove in Lachish, the Tamir family learned that an ancient Byzantine wine press had been discovered on the same spot, a finding that suggested fertile soil and large-scale agricultural activity in the area. In response, a name was chosen for the farm’s flagship label: Ptora, after the ancient city.
Tamir Farm specializes in growing olives and grapes, producing award-winning olive oil and boutique wines alongside other Israeli agricultural products. The producer’s 2026 Silver continues a consistent record at the competition, bringing Tamir Farm’s NYIOOC history to seven awards overall: three Gold and four Silver, including accolades in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
The 2026 result comes as Israeli producers continue to expand their footprint at the world’s leading quality contest. In “Israeli Producers Celebrate Record Year at World Competition,” Olive Oil Times reported that producers from across the country earned one Gold Award and two Silver Awards from four entries, reflecting a steady focus on quality and careful production in a small but diverse olive-growing sector.
The NYIOOC Silver places Ptora Midnight Coratina among the world’s elite extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Tamir Farm is ranked #2 in Israel, #68 in the Northern Hemisphere and #71 Worldwide.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world’s leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
