San Casciano in Val di Pesa, Italy — Tenuta la Poggiona has been awarded two Golds at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Tenuta la Poggiona - Blend 14 and Tenuta la Poggiona - Pendolino.
The Gold-winning Tenuta la Poggiona - Blend 14 is a robust extra virgin olive oil produced from Frantoio. Distinguished by aromas and flavors that recall almond, arugula, rosemary and tomato, Tenuta la Poggiona - Blend 14 reflects careful attention to freshness and balance in a bold style.
Tenuta la Poggiona also secured a Gold for Tenuta la Poggiona - Pendolino, a robust monovarietal produced from Pendolino, adding a second top award to the estate’s 2026 results.
Located in the heart of Chianti Classico in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, Tenuta la Poggiona spans 55 hectares, including 24 hectares of vineyards and 13 hectares of olive groves, surrounded by wilderness. Tenuta la Poggiona began in 2019 as the project of Mauro Bolla and Marina Brendolan, who set out to give new life to the estate with a focus on producing extra virgin olive oil rooted in the Chianti Classico landscape.
