Cape Barbariga, Croatia — Terra Eno Olea has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Salvela Buza.
Salvela Buza is a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced from the Buza cultivar. The oil is distinguished by notes of artichoke and arugula, alongside green almond and bitter almond that lend structure and a clean, savory depth.
Terra Eno Olea produces Salvela Buza from the Salvela Olive Grove, located at Cape Barbariga opposite the Brijuni Islands. Spanning 30 hectares on the west coast of the southern Istria peninsula, Salvela Olive Grove benefits from an ideal position that extends the vegetation period by up to three weeks compared to the surrounding region.
The 2026 Gold adds to Terra Eno Olea’s established record at the NYIOOC. Across its competition history, Terra Eno Olea has earned five Gold Awards and two Silver Awards, including Gold Awards in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2021, and Silver Awards in 2019 and 2025.
The award also strengthens Terra Eno Olea’s standing in the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, where Terra Eno Olea is ranked #21 in Croatia, #76 in the Northern Hemisphere and #78 Worldwide.
