Bolgheri, Italy — Terre Dei Ghelfi has been awarded a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Tuscan Bolgheri brand.
Tuscan Bolgheri is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity. Marked by a clean herbal character, Tuscan Bolgheri is distinguished by green almond notes and ripe fruit nuance, building toward a peppery finish that underscores its freshness.
Terre Dei Ghelfi produces extra virgin olive oil from olives harvested at maturity each October and handled to protect quality from grove to mill. After picking, the olives are placed in special boxes and transported for processing the same day, with pressing carried out as quickly as possible within five hours of harvesting. Terre Dei Ghelfi emphasizes careful extraction to preserve polyphenols, a key component of the oil’s sensory profile and stability.
The 2026 Silver adds to Terre Dei Ghelfi’s NYIOOC record, which now stands at two awards overall, including one Gold and one Silver. Terre Dei Ghelfi previously earned a Gold Award at the 2025 NYIOOC.
In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Terre Dei Ghelfi is ranked #54 in Italy, #95 in the Northern Hemisphere and #99 Worldwide.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world's leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
