Maroni, Cyprus — To Pervoli Tou Theodorou, Ltd has been awarded a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Marova Organic brand.
Marova Organic is a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced from Koroneiki olives. The oil is distinguished by herbaceous notes that recall arugula and tomato leaf, with a fresh tomato character that carries through the palate. Careful handling and organic cultivation practices help preserve the oil’s clarity and aromatic profile.
In the 1980s, Theodoros Christoforou founded two farms in the village of Maroni with a focus on cultivating Koroneiki olives. Today, To Pervoli Tou Theodorou, Ltd continues that tradition as a new generation takes over the work on both farms, which are certified organic. In 2017, the farms added additional crops to create a more biodiverse environment for the olive trees, including passion fruit, lotus, damson, traditional tea herbs and beehives.
The NYIOOC Silver places Marova Organic among the world’s leading extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, To Pervoli Tou Theodorou, Ltd is listed at # in Cyprus, # in the Northern Hemisphere and # Worldwide.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, widely regarded as the world’s leading olive oil quality contest, is a trusted reference for consumers and industry professionals.
