Mallorca, Spain — Treurer has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Treurer Arbequina.
Made exclusively from the Arbequina cultivar, Treurer Arbequina is a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil distinguished by a ripe banana sweetness that gives way to green tomato brightness and fresh-cut grass aromatics. Careful milling and close control of processing conditions preserve the oil’s clean profile and balance.
Treurer is a small family business on Mallorca, where the team farms a 20-hectare estate with 3,000 Arbequina olive trees and produces extra virgin olive oil in its own olive mill. Alongside olive growing, Treurer also operates a small hotel on the property, welcoming guests who want to see how extra virgin olive oil is produced and learn about the work behind quality-focused farming and milling.
Treurer’s approach has also been shaped by efforts to align production with the island’s landscape. In recent years, Treurer has focused on building a circular economy model intended to support high-quality olive oil production while protecting Mallorca’s natural beauty, a strategy that has helped the producer stay grounded as its oils have gained international recognition.
The 2026 Gold adds to Treurer’s established track record at the competition. Treurer has earned four Gold Awards overall at the NYIOOC, building on Gold results in 2025, 2024 and 2023.
In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Treurer is ranked #33 in Spain, #78 in the Northern Hemisphere and #80 Worldwide.
