Croatia — Utla Olive has been awarded a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Plominka.
Utla Olive produced Plominka as a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil from the Plominka cultivar. The monovarietal oil is distinguished by fresh green tomato and tomato leaf aromas, balanced by green almond and arugula, and carried through to a black pepper finish.
Olive oil production has been a family tradition at Utla Olive for more than 100 years. While continuing time-honored practices such as hand-harvesting, Utla Olive has also adopted new technologies intended to preserve nutritional values and support consistent quality. Utla Olive monitors the production process under strict terms and keeps output limited to small amounts.
The 2026 Silver adds to Utla Olive’s established record at the NYIOOC. Across its participation, Utla Olive has earned three awards: two Golds and one Silver, including Gold Awards in 2018 and 2022.
In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Utla Olive is ranked #48 in Croatia, #118 in the Northern Hemisphere and #122 Worldwide.
