Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil — Verde Louro Azeites has been awarded two Gold Awards at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Verde Louro Koroneiki and Verde Louro Arbequina.
Verde Louro Azeites received a Gold for Verde Louro Koroneiki, a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced from Koroneiki olives. Verde Louro Azeites also earned a Gold for Verde Louro Arbequina, a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil produced from Arbequina olives.
Across both award-winning labels, Verde Louro Azeites’ extra virgin olive oils are distinguished by delicate floral tones and a soft sweetness reminiscent of vanilla, alongside berry nuances and a fresh tomato leaf character that underscores the oils’ aromatic clarity.
Verde Louro Azeites produces extra virgin olive oil at Fazenda Mato Grande in Rio Grande do Sul, where olive trees have been grown for years with varieties that have adapted to the climate of southern Brazil. Working in what Verde Louro Azeites describes as a setting defined by care and attention, the farm has focused on producing 100-percent Brazilian extra virgin olive oil.
The 2026 results add to Verde Louro Azeites’ established record at the NYIOOC. Across its competition history, Verde Louro Azeites has earned nine Gold Awards and three Silver Awards. The producer’s recent results include two Gold and two Silver Awards in 2023, following two Gold Awards in 2021, three Gold Awards in 2019 and a Silver Award in 2018.
The two Gold Awards place Verde Louro Azeites among the leading producers in Brazil and internationally. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Verde Louro Azeites is ranked #7 in Brazil, #20 in the Southern Hemisphere and #89 Worldwide.
