Panzano in Chianti, Italy — Villa le Masse has been awarded a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for Olio le Masse.

Villa le Masse produces Olio le Masse as a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil, distinguished by pink pepper aromatics and a structured bitterness that recalls artichoke and leaf, alongside bitter almond and green almond nuances. The profile reflects an approach focused on producing full-bodied, high-phenolic oils from carefully revived groves in the Chianti countryside.

A small producer in Panzano, Chianti, Villa le Masse began a new chapter six years ago after purchasing an abandoned property and dedicating two years to restoring the olive trees and establishing an organic brand. The estate’s olive oil tradition dates to the mid-14th century, a legacy Villa le Masse has sought to continue through renewed cultivation and attentive stewardship of the trees.

“We are a small producer in Panzano, Chianti,” said Villa le Masse. “Having bought the abandoned property six years ago, we worked to restore the olive trees for two years and create an organic brand. This property has produced oil since the mid-14th century, and we are very proud to continue that tradition. We feel that, having rested for 15 years, our trees are producing full-bodied, high phenolic, exceptional olive oil.”

The NYIOOC Silver places Olio le Masse among the world’s awarded extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, Villa le Masse is #82 in Italy, #125 in the Northern Hemisphere and #129 Worldwide.
