Serra da Mantiqueira, Brazil — Zait Agronegócios Ltda has been awarded a Silver at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for AIU.
AIU is a robust extra virgin olive oil produced from Koroneiki, Arbequina, Coratina, Galega and Grappolo olives. Marked by a vivid green character, AIU is distinguished by notes reminiscent of artichoke and chicory, layered with arugula and parsley and rounded out by a fresh grassiness that reinforces its assertive profile.
Zait Agronegócios Ltda, the producer of AIU extra virgin olive oils, began planting olive trees in 2011 in the Serra da Mantiqueira region of southern Minas Gerais.
