Novigrad, Croatia — ZO Červar has been awarded a Gold at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for the Červar Bianchera brand.
Produced exclusively from Bianchera olives, Červar Bianchera is an extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity. Červar Bianchera is distinguished by a green, savory character, marked by artichoke and green almond, lifted by herbs and arugula and finished with a crisp radish note.
ZO Červar is based in Novigrad, a coastal town in Istria known locally for its fish, olive oil and wine. Continuing the tradition of ancestors who began professionally growing olives in the area in 1952, the Červar family operates according to modern olive growing standards while maintaining a focus on producing extra virgin olive oil as a niche offering.
The 2026 Gold adds to a consistent NYIOOC record for ZO Červar. Across its competition history, ZO Červar has earned seven Gold Awards, including one each year from 2020 through 2025.
The 2026 NYIOOC Gold places Červar Bianchera among the world's elite extra virgin olive oils. In the Olive Oil Times World Ranking, ZO Červar is ranked #14 in Croatia, #64 in the Northern Hemisphere and #68 Worldwide.
